MUSIC MONDAYS: flashback to Raleigh’s Whiskeytown
Given his roots, let’s talk North Carolina-raised Ryan Adams today. Rob & I really dig his music – and commitment to his craft.
When Ryan fronted the alt country band Whiskeytown back in the 90s in Raleigh (we both lived around there then – and Rob still does along with his family), we were quite impressed. The band definitely had iconic sound. Who didn’t love the fiddle?!
When the band disbanded in 2000 so that Ryan could pursue his successful solo career (+ as music producer too), it wasn’t surprising that he hit it big. He rocks!
Truth be told, I think Ryan is one guitar + banjo playing cutie with an amazing voice. His recklessness definitely appealed way back then….
And Rob thinks he’s one super cool dude too.
